CIMVHR is committed to fostering collaborative relationships with like-minded institutes around the world to advance military, Veteran and family health research. This engaged network brings unique perspectives and knowledge to the growing research community.

In March of 2021, CIMVHR welcomed long-time international partner Phoenix Australia as the newest Global Affiliate. Phoenix Australia and CIMVHR first began working together at the 2018 Australian Invictus Games, where the two organizations created the Five Eyes Mental Health Research and Innovation Collaboration (Five Eyes MHRIC). This group of thought leaders lead the way on collaborating with one another to advance research priorities of interest to their governments. The first meeting in Australia lead to the Five-Eyes Ministers adding the group’s recommendations into their outcomes report from their face-to-face meeting. In addition, the Five-Eyes MHRIC published their finding in The International Review of Psychiatry, Treatment of military-related post-traumatic stress disorder: challenges, innovations, and the way forward

Phoenix Australia is at the forefront of research, policy and training, working with individuals, organisations and the community to understand, prevent and recover from the potential adverse effects of trauma. With over 20 years of experience, their passion and drive is to improve the well-being and quality of life for individuals and communities who experience trauma. Their acclaimed research and international networks are the foundation of their work. They collaborate, partner with and guide organisations, communities and individuals to reduce the effects of trauma.
